श्री हरी स्तोत्रं

श्लोक 1

जगज्जालपालं चलत्कण्ठमालं
शरच्चन्द्रभालं महादैत्यकालं
नभोनीलकायं दुरावारमायं
सुपद्मासहायम् भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥1

Hindi Meaningमैं उन भगवान श्री हरि का बार-बार भजन करता हूँ, जो जगत रूपी जाल का पालन करते हैं, जिनके कंठ में दिव्य माला सुशोभित है, जिनका मुख शरद पूर्णिमा के चन्द्रमा जैसा उज्ज्वल है, जो महान दैत्यों का अंत करते हैं, जिनका शरीर आकाश के समान नील है, जिनकी माया अपार है और जो महालक्ष्मी के सहचर हैं।

English MeaningI repeatedly worship Lord Shri Hari, protector of the web of worlds, adorned with a moving garland, bright like the autumn moon, destroyer of mighty demons, blue as the sky, whose maya is hard to cross, and who is accompanied by Lakshmi.

श्लोक 2

सदाम्भोधिवासं गलत्पुष्पहासं
जगत्सन्निवासं शतादित्यभासं
गदाचक्रशस्त्रं लसत्पीतवस्त्रं
हसच्चारुवक्त्रं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥2

Hindi Meaningमैं उन भगवान विष्णु का बार-बार भजन करता हूँ, जो सदा क्षीरसागर में निवास करते हैं, जिनकी मुस्कान खिले पुष्प जैसी है, जिनमें समस्त जगत निवास करता है, जिनकी प्रभा सौ सूर्यों के समान है, जो गदा और चक्र धारण करते हैं, जिनके पीताम्बर शोभायमान हैं और जिनका मुख सुंदर मुस्कान से प्रकाशित है।

English MeaningI worship Vishnu, who ever dwells in the cosmic ocean, whose smile is like blooming flowers, in whom the universe rests, whose radiance equals a hundred suns, who bears the mace and discus, wears shining yellow garments, and smiles with a charming face.

श्लोक 3

रमाकण्ठहारं श्रुतिव्रातसारं
जलान्तर्विहारं धराभारहारं
चिदानन्दरूपं मनोज्ञस्वरूपं
ध्रुतानेकरूपं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥3

Hindi Meaningमैं उन श्री हरि का भजन करता हूँ, जो लक्ष्मीजी के कंठहार समान प्रिय हैं, जो वेदों के समूह का सार हैं, जो जल के भीतर लीला करते हैं, जो पृथ्वी का भार हरते हैं, जिनका स्वरूप चित् और आनंदमय है, जो अत्यंत मनोहर हैं और भक्तों के कल्याण के लिए अनेक रूप धारण करते हैं।

English MeaningI worship Shri Hari, beloved of Lakshmi like a necklace at her throat, essence of the Vedas, who moves in the waters, removes Earth’s burden, is pure consciousness and bliss, beautiful in form, and assumes many forms for divine purpose.

श्लोक 4

जराजन्महीनं परानन्दपीनं
समाधानलीनं सदैवानवीनं
जगज्जन्महेतुं सुरानीककेतुं
त्रिलोकैकसेतुं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥4

Hindi Meaningमैं उन भगवान विष्णु का बार-बार भजन करता हूँ, जो जन्म और वृद्धावस्था से रहित हैं, परम आनंद से पूर्ण हैं, समाधि में स्थित हैं, सदा नूतन हैं, जगत की उत्पत्ति के कारण हैं, देवसमूह के ध्वज समान आश्रय हैं और तीनों लोकों को जोड़ने वाले अद्वितीय सेतु हैं।

English MeaningI worship Vishnu, free from birth and decay, filled with supreme bliss, absorbed in perfect stillness, eternally fresh, the cause of the universe’s birth, the banner of the gods, and the one bridge across the three worlds.

श्लोक 5

कृताम्नायगानं खगाधीशयानं
विमुक्तेर्निदानं हरारातिमानं
स्वभक्तानुकूलं जगद्व्रुक्षमूलं
निरस्तार्तशूलं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥5

Hindi Meaningमैं उन श्री हरि का भजन करता हूँ, जिनकी वेद स्तुति करते हैं, जो पक्षिराज गरुड़ पर विराजमान हैं, जो मुक्ति के मूल कारण हैं, जो शिव के शत्रुओं के अहंकार को हरने वाले हैं, जो अपने भक्तों के अनुकूल हैं, जो जगत रूपी वृक्ष की जड़ हैं और जो दुखों के शूल को दूर करते हैं।

English MeaningI worship Shri Hari, praised by the Vedas, riding Garuda, source of liberation, humbler of hostile pride, gracious to his devotees, root of the world-tree, and remover of the piercing pain of suffering.

श्लोक 6

समस्तामरेशं द्विरेफाभकेशं
जगद्विम्बलेशं ह्रुदाकाशदेशं
सदा दिव्यदेहं विमुक्ताखिलेहं
सुवैकुण्ठगेहं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥6

Hindi Meaningमैं उन भगवान विष्णु का बार-बार भजन करता हूँ, जो समस्त देवताओं के ईश्वर हैं, जिनके केश भौंरों के समान श्यामल हैं, जिनमें जगत प्रतिबिंबित होता है, जो हृदयाकाश में विराजते हैं, जिनका दिव्य शरीर सदा शुद्ध है, जो समस्त बंधनों से मुक्त हैं और जिनका निवास सुंदर वैकुण्ठ है।

English MeaningI worship Vishnu, Lord of all gods, with dark bee-like hair, in whom the universe is reflected, who dwells in the sky of the heart, whose body is ever divine, free from all limitation, and whose home is radiant Vaikuntha.

श्लोक 7

सुरालिबलिष्ठं त्रिलोकीवरिष्ठं
गुरूणां गरिष्ठं स्वरूपैकनिष्ठं
सदा युद्धधीरं महावीरवीरं
महाम्भोधितीरं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥7

Hindi Meaningमैं उन श्री हरि का भजन करता हूँ, जो देवसमूह में परम बलशाली हैं, तीनों लोकों में श्रेष्ठ हैं, गुरुओं में भी महान गुरु हैं, अपने सत्यस्वरूप में स्थित हैं, युद्ध में सदा धीर हैं, महान वीरों के भी वीर हैं और संसार-सागर के पार ले जाने वाले तट समान आश्रय हैं।

English MeaningI worship Shri Hari, strongest among the hosts of gods, highest in the three worlds, greatest among teachers, established in his own true nature, calm in battle, hero of heroes, and the shore beyond the vast ocean of existence.

श्लोक 8

रमावामभागं तलानग्रनागं
कृताधीनयागं गतारागरागं
मुनीन्द्रैः सुगीतं सुरैः संपरीतं
गुणौधैरतीतं भजेऽहं भजेऽहं ॥8

Hindi Meaningमैं उन भगवान विष्णु का बार-बार भजन करता हूँ, जिनके वाम भाग में लक्ष्मीजी विराजती हैं, जो शेषनाग पर शयन करते हैं, जिनकी प्रसन्नता के लिए यज्ञ किए जाते हैं, जो राग-द्वेष से परे हैं, जिनका मुनियों ने सुंदर गान किया है, जिन्हें देवता घेरे रहते हैं और जो गुणों के समूह से भी परे हैं।

English MeaningI worship Vishnu, with Lakshmi at his left side, resting upon the great serpent, honored through sacred offerings, beyond attachment and aversion, beautifully praised by sages, surrounded by gods, and transcending every stream of qualities.

फलश्रुति

इदं यस्तु नित्यं समाधाय चित्तं
पठेदष्टकं कण्ठहारम् मुरारे:
स विष्णोर्विशोकं ध्रुवं याति लोकं
जराजन्मशोकं पुनर्विन्दते नो ॥

Hindi Meaningजो व्यक्ति मन को एकाग्र करके मुरारी के इस कंठहार समान अष्टक का नित्य पाठ करता है, वह निश्चय ही भगवान विष्णु के शोक-रहित लोक को प्राप्त करता है और फिर वृद्धावस्था, जन्म तथा शोक का दुख नहीं पाता।

English MeaningWhoever recites this eight-versed garland of Murari every day with a concentrated mind surely reaches Vishnu’s sorrowless realm and does not again undergo the grief of old age, birth, and sorrow.
